Backending your Android applications with App Engine

Yaniv and I presented a session on "Building Android Applications that Use Web APIs" at Google IO 2012. Yaniv spoke about how you can take advantage of Google APIs via the Java Client Library to make richer Android Apps.

I introduced Google Cloud Endpoints and spoke about how you can build a scalable mobile backend on App Engine for storing your data and for performing computations. You can easily access App Engine via REST endpoints using the Java Client Library. The audience liked the simplicity of generating the Cloud Endpoints and consuming them on their Android applications. The Google Plugin for Eclipse works well with the Android Development Tools to provide a compelling platform for building great Android apps backed with App Engine.

We welcome developers to signup for the Google Cloud Endpoints Trusted Tester Program!
